What’s uppppppppppppp everybodyyyyyyyyyyy! I’ve been slightly slacking on blogging, but I’ve made a committment…so I’m seriously going to try to stick to it this time How has everything been? Things have been sweeeet on my end, but also very busy. Working on getting my next few releases out and preparing for spring shows.

Keep an eye out for my updated spring/summer calendar soon and I’ll be making some of the larger show/festival announcements from here as well. Hope to see everybody in 2012!

Crayon Drive Thank You Card from the Kids!!! #socute

Soooooo, last August, Magnate (a group of promoters here in Michigan) put together a techno show where myself and Sonnrize performed. We also held a crayon drive to collect crayons for kids in our local public school system. Many of the crayons went to Grandville Avenue Arts and Humanities, which is an AMAZING organization that provides inner-city kids with after school programs for things like music, art, dance, pottery, etc. Which I’m allllll about the arts, so I highly recommend checking them out.

After I dropped off 215 boxes of crayons….actually wait…after i TRIED to drop off 215 boxes of crayons cuz that is heaaaaaaaaavy…so heavy that my box totally ripped open on the first floor of the building LOLLLL But yea, all was well. The kids got the crayons and LOVED them. So thank you to everyone who helped to donate!!!! The kids handmade a thank you card that’s def worth seeing…it’s SO CUTE!! ha ha

So see!! all you people who say that us folks from Generation Y never do anything…HAH, we laugh in your face We DO give back to the community…we might not be able to write huge checks, but we do give back in our own way, and that counts for something too!

Finished the tour feeling GREAT…I get home the next morning and feel like someone has beaten my entire body with a bat…smh I blame Michigan weather…LOL I blame that for everything though. Bad news…I feel like crap…good news is I’ve been coughing so much that my abs have gotten quite the workout. ha ha ha ha

Other than being on my deathbed, lol I’m mostly preparing the launch of my label next month woot wooooot! yeaaaaaaaaa It’s called Bass Candi But yea, my EP that drops March 1st will be the first release on the label so that’s exciting. Along with the launch, you guys will also finally get to see the video for the single Get ‘Em Up featuring my friends Flying Without Wingz, which a lot of you west-coasters heard on the tour.

The video is an animated cartoon with myself, Irawniq and V.C. from FW2. It’s amazing and I can’t wait for everyone to see it! Plus, I love cartoons, so it only makes sense lol

Andddddd speaking of Get ‘Em Up…shortly after the EP drops comes a remix EP for the single…the remixes are AMAZING. There’s electro, hip-hop, dubstep, breaks, etc… I think we pulled off remixes of every genre…so I’m really anxious for everyone to hear those as well.

I’m gonna go overdose on Vitamin C now (and yesssssssss before some smartmouf comments I know you can’t overdose on Vitamin C cuz it’s water soluble…#figureofspeech LOLL)

Bassnectar Tour Day 5: SEATTLE!!!!!!

Seattle was nothing short of amazing. The city of Seattle…awesome. This was the first stop on the tour where I actually had the chance to walk around and take everything in. I was soooooooooo happy…when I got off of the tour bus I looked up and saw Barney’s New York Felt right at home The venue…wow. The Paramount Theatre is by far the most beautiful venue I’ve played in. It was like playing in the Sistine Chapel. Sort of an epic moment…I mean this is where Madonna opened her first tour…Nirvana has played there! But yah, it’s a beautiful venue and the staff was absolutely amazing Some pictures below!

After the show I went to this really cool place called Moe Bar. It was just a regular chill spot but just what I needed….then I got a cream cheese dog….yes I know…a CREAM CHEESE DOG. I was very skeptical at first…but I’m sold. It’s basically like a grilled bun that they put cream cheese on and then a polish sausage with grilled onions and whatever else you want to put on it…INCLUDING my personal fav…SRIRACHA mmmmm mmmmmmm lol After that…it was time to say goodbye to the tour bus and my little cubby hole

Bassnectar Tour Day 4: Portland!!!

OMG i had a blast in Portland yesterday suuuuuuch a good time. I didn’t get to walk around as much as I would have hoped, but of what I saw, looks to be a pretty amazing city. Hopefully, I’ll get to return soon. Soundcheck went off without a hitch. Everything went really well. Almost eery how well things went ha ha ha While setting up I said to Filastine “I have a really good feeling about tonite”. It was such a great nite. Great crowd. The best was during my set I look down at the photographer…who is rocking a Detroit Techno Militia t-shirt! I immediately went to make friends after my set…I’m like finally someone from the east side of the country! lol Turns out he was from Canton, OH and a huge Detroit techno fan. #awesome

Bassnectar Tour Day 3: ALL IS WELL :-)

So this girl comes up to me and says, “omg, what’s you’re favorite thing about playing with Bassnectar?” and I didn’t know what to say about it at first, but I had to think about it…

Honestly, my favorite thing about touring with Bassnectar is the diversity of the lineups…

Mind you I make/play techno…but I produce MANY different kinds of music and I LOVE all different kinds and I always want ppl to be willing to listen to an expose themselves to all kinds of music.

So I guess the reason I love playing with Lorin is that, I’ve played with him and hip hop acts, him and breaks acts, him and abtract acts, him and ambient acts, him and “world music” acts…u just never know…the crowd always is always receptive tho and that’s superdope to me

Because to me….that means people aren’t getting exposed to an act…they get to show up and hear quality music…of all different varieties…and I don’t know about you…but I like quality music

Now…aside from that…EUGENE, OR…you guys are inSANE!!!!

Bassnectar Tour Day 2: Eureka, CA

So yesterday in Eureka was AWESOME. I was happy just to have MADE IT to the bus after the fiasco with cancelled flights due to the blizzard in the midwest. So I made it! and I had a GREEEEEAT time. Got to meet lots of cool peeps and the weather there was beautiful…plus it was kinda in a rural area which was sooooo relaxing. All we have is organic food on the bus…so frankly I feel somewhat healthy (hope Lana reads that line LOLLL). ha ha

So yea, tonite, we’re in Eugene, OR which I’ve never been to (or heard of), but I know it’s going to be amazing. Everyone I’ve bumped into has been SOOO nice and friendly. There’s also a cute little vintage store next to the venue (McDonald Theatre). Anywho…all is well and there’s internet access everywhere I go…even on the bus. Therefore…I am happy
